Our founder, Cameron Stefanski, has 10+ years of industry experience working with nonprofits and brands across the country.
He realized over that time that nonprofits and smaller businesses/brands lack the ability to have a full-service marketing & development team to take their strategic pipe dreams to the next level continuously.
Cameron set out to create his own brand that will focus on ensuring that nonprofits and forward-thinking brands will have the strategic creative assets they need to meet their audience right where they currently are to help make the biggest impact and invigorate their audiences to help remind them what it feels like to truly feel alive.
Hi there! Cameron here. I am a creative professional with a background in non-profit development, social media marketing, and arts management. Building effective strategies and interpersonal relationships have really fueled my success, and I look forward to continuing that work with you to achieve your wildest goals and aspirations!
My mission and vision is to leave people better than when I found them. I care about people and their stories. It is my everyday intention to use what I am good at and passionate about as a force for good and to create change.
It is not lost on me that the importance in giving people the opportunity to make them feel like their most authentic self starts with creating acceptance affirming spaces and experiences that make folks safe, seen, and represented through community.

A Michigander from birth, born and raised in southeast Michigan in the metro Detroit area, later moving to northern Michigan (Gaylord) and transplanting to Traverse City after many years of living in cities across the country working with creative brands, performing arts & nonprofit orgs, and entertainment companies with a global perspective, Cam is a millennial Gemini, a proud queer entrepreneur, and a fierce advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion. He’s the visionary behind 989 Creative Group, where he empowers nonprofits and socially conscious brands to amplify their missions and create meaningful connections through innovative marketing.
With a career rooted in authenticity and impact, Cam believes every brand has a story worth telling—and it’s his mission to help you tell yours in a way that sparks action. As a seasoned expert in social media management, website design, brand strategy, and content marketing, he’s your go-to brand invigorator, breathing new life into your digital presence while staying true to your core values.

David J. Matheny (he/she/they)
Brand Manager-
David brings a wealth of experience in brand management, strategic marketing, and creative direction. His passion for storytelling and commitment to excellence align perfectly with our mission to create impactful and authentic digital experiences for our clients.

Experience: With a strong background in small business, non-profit’s like the Cleveland International Film Festival, Plexus LGBTQ+ & Allied Chamber of Commerce, David has honed his skills in brand strategy, publicist, public relations, graphic design, social media management, strategic planning, external/internal communication, and client relationship management.
Passions: Outside of work, David is an avid hiker, and he loves spending time in nature with his partner Carlos and their dog, Quinn. He’s excited to bring his creative energy and fresh perspective to 989 Creative Group.
Vision: David is eager to contribute to our vision of empowering nonprofits and socially conscious brands with innovative digital solutions.
